Dental Bridges
Dental bridges are a key restorative treatment offered at Premier Dentistry of Gettysburg, designed to replace one or more missing teeth, thereby restoring both the functionality and aesthetics of your smile. A dental bridge essentially ‘bridges’ the gap created by missing teeth using artificial teeth, known as pontics, which are anchored onto neighboring teeth or implants.
Bridges are made from various materials, such as porcelain, gold, alloys, or a combination, to aesthetically complement your natural teeth. They not only restore the appearance of your smile but also maintain the shape of your face, distribute the forces in your bite properly, and prevent remaining teeth from drifting out of position.
The process of getting a bridge typically involves two visits. During the first visit, the abutment teeth are prepared for crowns, and impressions are taken to create the bridge. A temporary bridge is placed while the permanent one is being made. On your second visit, the temporary bridge is removed, and the new permanent bridge is adjusted and cemented into place.
At Premier Dentistry of Gettysburg, we ensure that your dental bridge is crafted with precision and care, providing a comfortable fit and a natural look, so you can smile with confidence and ease.
